At the age of five, I surprised my family by telling them that someday I was going to be a dentist and now here I am doing just that. It is an honor to have your trust to let me into your personal space and help you with your smile. I take your oral health very seriously, go above and beyond to make sure I provide you with the best care, use the best materials and assist you in achieving your oral health goals. I am passionate about dentistry and joined the healthcare field because I enjoy working with people. To me, the most important thing is that you leave my office with a brilliant and healthy smile. I value providing care in a kind, compassionate and trustworthy manner. Your best interests are at my heart.
Education and Continuing Education
-
Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry — Alfred University
-
Doctorate of Dental Surgery — University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine
- Advanced Education in General Dentistry 2-Year Residency, with a concentration on Esthetics— University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine
I am committed to staying current with the newest improvements in dental care. I am working on the mastery curriculum through Spear Education and have also been taking classes through the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Through these courses, I have expanded my knowledge and skills regarding esthetics, implantology and sleep apnea. I am also directly involved with a study club made up of general dentists and specialists working together to provide their patients with comprehensive treatment.
Beyond the Office
I grew up in Bernhard’s Bay, NY and have lived in the Elmwood Village for more than 10 years. John, my terrific husband, is an electrical engineer and has taken on a new hobby: repairing dental equipment! When we first bought the practice we had very old equipment and John took the time to learn to repair it – and I never paid him!
We have two young sons, David and Phillip, who enjoy playing receptionist. They can often be heard running around the office and saying hello to our patients. Charlie is our dachshund/poodle mix who is an aspiring therapy dog. He loves to lie on patients’ laps during treatment, especially the patients who bring him treats.
When not working I can often be found cooking or gardening. I also enjoy reading, pilates and attend bible study.
Community Involvement
My office is committed to doing a yearly community event. We have been making dinner for the local Ronald McDonald house for the past several years and also did a meal for the Kevin Guest House. We have perfected a homemade chicken pot pie.
Through University at Buffalo's BOCA program, I have participated in six dental missions trips to Colonial Beach, VA, Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
